Tasting notes
The organic Monteraponi 2021 Baron'Ugo is buoyant and lifted with tart cherry and redcurrant. The wine is very sharp, angular, and it offers terrific freshness. At a time in which heavy red wines have passed from fashion, this medium-bodied red wine fills that void. The acidity is spot-on. I wonder about the wine's stability with cellar aging, but only time will tell.

The 2021 Baron'Ugo is sourced from vineyards Antonio Braganti planted in 1974 as a field blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino at 470 meters in elevation. Wild red cherry, tobacco, spice, incense and blood orange lend an exotic flair. Readers will find a heady, explosive wine that delivers the goods on all fronts. Impressive. Clean mineral notes frame the sustained finish. A classic wine from Radda.
