Score 88/100 · Drink 2022-2030, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2022

The 2018 Barolo del Comune di La Morra is a very pretty wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, mint and dried flowers all open, showing a bit more evolution than is typical at this stage. That's not a bad thing at all for a wine meant to be drunk on the younger side, but it is something readers should be aware of.

Ripe red plums and grilled mushrooms with a light sprinkling of dried herbs and light spice. Medium-bodied with a clean bead of fruit that rides tight and firm, light-grained tannins. This is very compact. Give it a year to unravel. Try from 2023.
