62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Fairly deep blackish garnet. Complete, obviously left-bank wine with a beginning, middle and end. Blackberry compote again. Served slightly too warm for refreshment value. But a true vin de plaisir ! Longish. (JR)

The 2019 Ségla has a tertiary, smoky, pencil box scented bouquet, a bit grouchier than its Margaux peers, stubborn in its flush of youth. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, pretty and quite elegant with a keen thread of acidity. There is impressive precision on the finish, quite mineral-driven with a satisfyingly persistent aftertaste. This Deuxième Vin always shines in blind tastings, its seductiveness shining through. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

Tasted blind. Relatively simple and a little raw. Some greenness here but, for the moment, not much interest. Drying finish. Clean, direct but a bit dull. May improve in bottle? (JR)

The second wine of this great estate in Margaux, the 2019 Château Rauzan-Ségla Ségla is a charming, ripe, delicious wine offering bright cherry fruits as well as some spicy, floral notes, medium-bodied richness, no hard edges, and the freshness and purity that's the hallmark of the vintage.
