Named after Damien Colin's maternal grandmother Lucy, the 2021 Saint-Aubin Village "Luce" comes from three parcels. Clearly more complex than the Bourgogne Chardonnay, it has quite a lively, peachy nose with touches of grapefruit and quince. The palate is well-balanced with a tangy, marmalade-tinged opening and modest depth, though maybe just misses a little complexity on the finish. Shows decent substance, though just pulls up short.

The 2021 Saint-Aubin Cuvée Luce reveals notes of citrus oil, white flowers, struck match and pear, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive palate that offers an attractive balance between texture and tension.
