Score 94/100 · Drink 2023-2038, Jeb Dunnuck, Mar 2023

The 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino pours deep ruby while remaining transparent, with heady aromas of concentrated cherry, wild Mediterranean herbs, leather, and smoky perfume. It is medium-bodied, though it expands through the palate, with ripe red plum, fresh soil, blood orange, cedar, and an approachable tannin structure. it is a wonderfully honest wine with a lot of character to drink over the next 15 years.
