100% Viognier (45 years old). From Paton, Lys de Volan, La Bonnette, Rochecourbe, Les Rivoire, Merlant. Aged 10 months in new and one-year-old barrels (Allier, Tronçais, Jupille). No fining and very light filtration. Quite deep straw. What a lot of ingredients! But the results are impressive. This could only be Condrieu! Saline and blossomy and with a certain stony character. This is really well judged. And a true Condrieu. Though perhaps without the undertow of the very best examples. (JR)
Fermented and aged for 10 months in new and one-year-old barrels – Allier, Tronçais and Jupille. Tasted blind. The nose has a blend of ripe stone fruits, chamomile and wet hay. An unctuous mid palate with white flowers and pear. The oak comes through on the moderate finish. A ripe, generous and rich expression. (AC)
