Tasting notes
The 2021 Cornas Granit 60 is a terrific result from this challenging vintage. Slightly reductive at first, swishing the glass gradually unlocks a red-fruited profile. Leafy undertones, forest floor and cured meat elements add more contrast. Medium-bodied, concentrated and remarkably refreshing, the 2021 finishes on a savory note.

The 2021 Cornas Granit 60 is more focused and tight, with both red and blue fruits, notes of iron, ground pepper, and violets, medium body, ripe tannins, and a good finish. There's less baby fat here, so the tannins feel more present, yet it has good concentration, and I suspect it will gain richness over the course of its élevage.
Cask sample. Tasted blind. Primary nose which is quite subdued. Spiced – clove, pepper – and powdery tannins that dominate the moderate fruit core. A quite light and refreshing style. Time is needed to tame it a little. (AC)
