Tasting notes
The current release 2015 The Armagh Shiraz is the biggest of the recent bottlings of this icon. Full-bodied, dense and rich, it takes concentrated blackberries and boysenberries, then frames them in oak spice and maple syrup, yet it remains somehow savory and dry. The tannins are supple on the mid-palate, then firm on the finish, accented by crisp acids.

The boldness here is striking with assertive red plums, earth and toasted spices, all layered on the nose. The palate has a very taut, gently lemony core of red fruit and a long, fresh and assertive finish. Drink over the next decade.
This classically styled 2015 Shiraz The Armagh shows the region’s savory side with its breathtaking combination of sage, pepper and earth set against a backdrop of cherry compote and well-integrated oak. Beautifully mid-weight, the vibrant and spicy flavors are reserved and intriguing, while an upwelling of fine yet firm tannins adds substance. The 2015 is poised and beautifully pitched, with seamless balance to enjoy over the next two decades.
