Tasting notes
Albert Bichot is the largest owner of Malconsorts, with 1.76 of the 2.5-hectare Premier Cru neighbouring La Tâche. A little reductive in this youthful stage, beneath you can nevertheless see the allure of this typically sensual cuvée. It’s transparent yet also exotic, with rich, sweet, dark cherry, a creamy depth and silken structure. It was – as ever – one of our favourites from the tasting at Bichot.

Here too there is a touch of crushed leaf character though in this case it is more subtle on the pretty and layered aromas of Asian-style tea, plum and black cherry scents. There is both more volume and power to the delicious and caressing but decidedly punchy flavors that culminate in a robust, powerful and serious finale. As is usually the case, this is built-to-age and a wine that's going to need at least some. Outstanding. Drink 2033+.
Pure beautiful purple, with the nose of exceptional hedonistic class associated with this vineyard. One can detect the remains of a little reduction in the mouth, which holds it back a fraction at this stage, but this is still a really good wine underneath and will be thoroughly exciting. It has the Malconsorts magic.
