Tasting notes
The fruit for this cuvée comes from Basses Maizières, belot Suchots. In 2021, it’s regal – with a voluptuous expressiveness. Decadent layers of cherry and raspberry coulis – providing a plush pillow of fruit on the mid-palate – make for a wine of real depth and richness. Long and balanced, this – as was also true last year – is a grandiose village wine that punches well above its weight.

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Village is clean and precise on the nose with black cherry and raspberry fruit, fine focus and just a touch of violet petal coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, quite sapid and almost Morey-like with a touch of black olive on the structured finish. Good potential, but this may require longer in bottle than its peers.
The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Village offer up aromas of plums, sweet red berries, orange zest and smoked tea, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy palate with good depth at the core and powdery structuring tannins.
