Tasting notes
There is just one new 400-liter barrel of the 2021 Echézeaux Grand Cru and is 100% whole bunch. It has a nicely detailed bouquet, though I feel there is maybe a little too much stemminess at the moment, not that Frédéric Weber had ample choice given the depleted volume. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, very harmonious and pure. The stems are more enmeshed towards the lightly spiced finish. Lovely. But it will need time.

The 2021 Echézeaux Grand Cru opens in the glass with notions of dark berries, vine smoke, baking chocolate and grilled meats, followed by a medium to full-bodied, seamless and lively palate that's suave and elegant. Sadly, only one barrel was produced.
