FINE+RARE, Nov 2022

Henri Jouan’s 2021 Chambolle-Musigny is juicy and moreish. The nose is appealing, filled with delicate florals and bright, crunchy red-berry fruit. The Palate is chalky and fresh, layered with raspberry, redcurrant and sweeter wild strawberry. There’s an elegance, with fine tannins that are seamlessly integrated.

Cask sample. Light ruby. Delicate aroma of wild strawberries, but it does smell a bit tart. Smells a little of SO 2 (presumably to protect the sample on its travels). A bit hard to taste through that, but it clearly has some bright and juicy red fruit. Tannins are light and dry. A bit severe overall. (JH)
