Tasting notes
The Lafarge family concluded their harvest with the 2019 Bourgogne Aligoté Raisins Dorés, a lovely wine bursting with aromas of pear, orange oil, fresh bread and flowers. Vinified entirely in barrel, it's medium-bodied, lively and concentrated, with bright acids and a fleshy core of fruit.

The 2019 Bourgogne Aligoté Raisins Dorés, which was taken from barrel and no concrete tanks as usual because of the small quantity, has a fragrant nose with grapefruit and honeysuckle scents. The palate is well balanced, primal at the moment with a gentle sour lemon and thyme tinged finish.
Very badly frosted. Ripened very rapidly but picked this 19 September after the other grapes. Made all this in old barrels – usually only half goes into old wood. Cask sample. Very rich and lively. Lots of density and concentration. Really serious white! Still finished quite chewy. (JR)
