Score 91/100 · Drink 2022-2028, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Jul 2022

2015 was a warm and powerful year with tannins, and the 2015 Reserva shows ripeness and jammy fruit, with plenty of spice and a powerful, full-bodied palate. It has 14.2% alcohol and a pH of 3.55. They used a little new oak here, 20%, and they used mostly French (70%) but also 30% American oak barrels, where the wine matured for 17 months. They like this style of San Vicente, powerful and ripe fruit, concentrated and expressive. 20,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2019. It's aging quite slowly.

Spiced red and black fruits, dried herbs, licorice, and graphite all emerge from the 2015 Reserva, a medium-bodied Reserva with nicely integrated oak, good mid-palate density, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. Drink it over the coming 10-12 years or so.
