The 2019 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru is superb, wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, sweet berries, warm spices and rose petals, framed by a deft application of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, layered and velvety, with beautifully refined tannins and an ample mid-palate, it's deep and concentrated, with a seamless, elegant profile.

0.85 ha in two parcels at the western end of the climat under Clos du Roi. 50% whole bunch. Tank sample. Serious stuff on the nose though the fruit is quite high in acidity. Was this picked quite early? Or whole-bunch influence? Just slightly ungenerous for the appellation. (JR)
