Tasting notes
The 2021 Côte de Brouilly Le Clos comes from the parcel just outside the winery and is matured in 42-hectolitre foudres for 7 or 8 weeks. This has a captivating floral bouquet with dried rose petals infusing the brambly red fruit. The palate has a wonderful structure with finely-chiseled tannins slightly granular in texture, and a strict, saline finish lingering long in the mouth. This is a great success in the context of the vintage.

From an outcropping of pink granite in the historic southwest-facing enclosed vineyards of the Château Thivin, the 2021 Côte de Brouilly Clos Bertrand wafts from the glass with aromas of sweet plums, berries and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, ample and seamless, it's beautifully refined and elegant, with melting tannins, succulent acids and a long, perfumed finish.
