This is the prettiest and palest shade in the glass, but it is a majestic wine. It’s nose is as delicate as its colour – with a floral, dainty perfume that shifts hauntingly in and out of focus. On the palate, refined fruit skips along the mineral palate, with a fine-boned framework of powdered tannins. There’s a brightness here, with moreish acidity and an incredible, long and nuanced chalk-filled finish.

The 2021 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is another attractive wine in this range from Boillot. Medium in body and nicely lifted, the Bonnes Mares has plenty of energy, if not quite the depth or textural resonance of the very best years. This is a decidedly small-scaled Bonnes Mares. - Antonio Galloni
The 2021 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has turned out beautifully, mingling aromas of red berries with notes of cinnamon, rose petals and bergamot in an inviting bouquet. Full-bodied, ample and seamless, it's pure and precise, with vibrant acids and a long, mineral finish.
About the producer
Based in Meursault and farming some of the finest vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, Henri Boillot is a leading address in Burgundy. He crafts fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but the estate is best known for its flagship monopole vineyard, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos de la Mouchère.
