Score 91/100 · Drink 2023-2026, Erin Larkin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2023

The 2022 Black Label Sauvignon Blanc is herbaceous and intense on the nose, with cilantro, eucalyptus, green apple skins, wet limestone and a clap of chalk and brine. In the mouth, the wine is detailed and fresh—pert as all get up, and it’s layered with loads of nuanced flavor. Lovely wine. 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

Full screwcapped bottle just 1,294 g. This seems more like common-or-garden pungent Marlborough, sweetish Sauvignon Blanc than the two, cheaper, supermarket examples reviewed above. Not especially appetising because of that sweetness. (JR)

Aromas of dragon fruit, green bell pepper and peaches. Medium-bodied with silky texture. Fresh and bright. Soft finish. Sustainable. Drink now. Screw cap.
