Tasting notes
The 2021 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru feels a bit reduced on the nose and I would have liked more energy and delineation. The palate is well balanced with just the right amount of bitterness on the entry to lend tension. Cohesive, judiciously spiced and quite linear as it segues towards the finish, this should repay maturation in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru has a discreet and complex bouquet with sea spray and oyster shell, a hint of praline loitering in the background. The palate is well-balanced, with a citrus edge on the entry. Quite saline, but more backward compared to other cuvées and perhaps requiring more time in bottle. I feel this will bide its time, so be prepared.
Layered and mineral, the 2021 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur unwinds in the glass with aromas of orange oil, pear, white flowers, iodine and clear honey. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's deep and electric, concluding with a long, saline finish.
