Light crimson. Juicy, fresh, vibrant fruit. Lots of acidity and fine tannins. Dry rather than sweet on the end. Not that seductive! Rather a sudden finish. (JR)

The 2013 Fleurie Les Moriers comes from old granite soils, the vines deep as they break these old soils easily. It has a more easterly exposure than the Juliénas. There are bundles of fleshy, ripe red berry fruit on the nose: clean and pure, almost Côte de Beaune-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with tart cherries on the entry, then it veers to quite a structured, classic style Fleurie with very fine tension and mineralité. This is a top-class Fleurie.

Deep ruby-red. A sexy, energetic bouquet evokes fresh red berries, lavender, Asian spices and smoky minerals. Concentrated yet energetic, showing excellent lift and clarity to its raspberry and bitter cherry thanks to juicy acidity. Displays wonderful vivacity and power on the finish, which is firmed by fine-grained tannins.
