The 2016 Monthelie Rouge was picked at 10 hectoliters per hectare. It is a gorgeous bouquet with expressive red cherry, wild strawberry and veins of blue fruit, not a million miles away from an Auxey-Duresses in style. The palate is fleshy and structured in the mouth, fresh and sappy with black plum and a splash of soy on the lively finish. This is a dense Monthelie that has superb substance and length. Excellent.
