Score 96/100 · Drink 2024-2040, Joaquin Hidalgo, Vinous, Nov 2022

The 2019 Cabernet Franc Chañares Estate from Los Árboles, Uco Valley, was 50% aged in new barrels. Purple in color. The clear, delicate perfumed nose presents remarkably intense notes of sour cherry, ash and blackcurrant enhanced by a layer of mint and aromas from the aging process. Indulgent and expansive, the energy builds in the mouth, sculpting a palate of balanced freshness that enlivens the extremely finely grained tannins. The flavors are a precise combination of oak and just the right degree of ripe fruit.

Aromas of fresh herbs and currants with some flowers. Medium to full body with firm, fine tannins and an umami, dark-fruit and savory aftertaste. Polished and fine. Drink after 2025.
