Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2021-2038, Neal Martin, May 2018
The 2017 Gombaude-Guillot, which was aged 10% in amphora and to my knowledge remains Pomerol’s only biodynamic growth, has an earthy, sous-bois scented bouquet that just needs a little more fruit to come through. The palate is medium-bodied with dark berry fruit laced with brown spices. There is a natural balance to this Pomerol, not deep or complex, but it comes with an approachable, open-knit finish and a saline aftertaste that pleases.
