Wafting from the glass with a deep bouquet of dark berries, sweet spices and a subtle touch of oak, the 2020 Côte de Brouilly La Chapelle is medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with tangy acids and an ample endowment of ripe, powdery tannin. This is a concentrated, youthfully structured wine that will reward a bit of bottle age.

The 2020 Côte de Brouilly La Chapelle was taken from a new foudre and had not quite finished its malolactic. Crisp and already seemingly quite minerally on the nose, it presents plenty of dark black and blueberry fruit. The palate feels nicely balanced, smooth, perhaps with more red fruit than the Les Griottes, and harmonious and poised on the finish. Very good potential.
