Tasting notes
The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cazetiers is the first time Pierre Duroché has elected to bottle this vineyard separately, though there is only a single, year-old barrel. It has a gorgeous bouquet with small red cherries, mulberry and stony aromas; precise and focused. The palate has lace-like tannin on the entry, the acidity extremely well judged and it feels spicy thanks to a pinch of white pepper towards the finish. There is a savory vein throughout this Gevrey-Chambertin and for some odd reason, flavor if not structurally-wise, it echoes a Côte-Rôtie! Very fine.

About the producer

Domaine Duroché has, under Pierre Duroché, become one of the most sought-out and respected wine domaines in Gevrey-Chambertin. The wines are delicate and detailed, yet with old-vine intensity, a clear sense of place and style – and it’s easy to see why they’ve rapidly become so in-demand.
