Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2018-2028, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016
The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques comes from 60-year-old vines. It felt a little tight on the nose and tried as I might to coax more fruité from the glass, it remained rather broody. The palate is ripe and generous on the entry with red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit, quite elegant although it does not quite deliver the peacock's tail of flavors on the finish. This is much more linear and bashful, at least at the moment.
