Tasting notes
The 2005 Roc De Cambes is still ruby/plum-hued with no bricking. It has classic 2005 power and richness, with ripe red and black currants, spicy herbs, leather, and graphite notes as well as medium to full-bodied richness on the palate. It's a ripe, velvety, opulent effort that has still-present tannins, rock-solid mid-palate depth, and a great finish.

Exciting life here with real personality. Rich and not sweet but very interesting and flattering. (JR)
Hot summer, cold nights, ripened slowly and harvested late – the character of this decade – unusual – no longer hot v cool vintages of the past. Very dark garnet with dark brick rim. Very dark and very ripe but still pure. Spicy dark fruit, cassis, cigar box. Dark and beefy and savoury. Chewy but rounded. (JH)
