Tasting notes
Limpid straw-yellow. Powerful pear, nectarine and melon qualities on the highly perfumed nose, which is complemented by smoky mineral, jasmine and ginger nuances. Sappy, mineral-laced orchard and pit fruit stain the palate and become spicier as the wine stretches out. Rich, yet nervy in style, finishing very long and energetic, with resonating florality and a lingering mineral flourish.

Some richer ripe melon and pear with grilled cashews and savory, spiced nougat. The palate has impressive freshness and a lively, crisp-cut finish. Drink now.
From two vineyards planted in 1904 and 1910 (the vineyards are side by side), the 2016 Avancia Godello was aged 10 months in a mix of French oak puncheons and 500- and 600-liter demi-muids. It has more minerality and vibrancy than the cuvée de O Godello, as well as perfumed notes of citrus blossom, lychee, and saltiness, with a touch of building brioche and toasty notes developing with time in the glass. It’s a gorgeous white.
