Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2021-2034, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru comes from the young, 22-year old vines in Chambertin and is completely de-stemmed. It has a light and quite airy bouquet with blackberry and bilberry notes, crushed stone becoming more pronounced with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry. More black than red fruit here, it has a pleasant spiciness towards the finish with a touch of graphite on the aftertaste. Fine.
