Score 94/100 · Drink 2023-2033, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate, Dec 2023

The 2018 Saumur Brézé Clos des Carmes derives from vines planted on a south-facing parcel. It offers up a delicate, deep bouquet with aromas of ripe pear, herbs, iodine and orchard fruit intertwined with an elegantly flinty character. Full-bodied and concentrated, layered and seamless, it's a lively, rather muscular wine with a fleshy core of fruit and a delicate, long and salty finish. As usual, this overperforming estate from clay-limestone soils has produced a powerful yet excellent white wine.
