2016 Nuits St Georges Clos des Argillieres

There are a mere two barrels—some fifty cases—of the 2016 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Argillières, a wine that bursts with aromas of violets, rose petal, dark fruit and exotic spice. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and deep, with fine but firm tannins and juicy balancing acids. Fermented with 100% whole cluster due to the small volumes of fruit, this Nuits is already more supple and integrated than when I tasted it from barrel. Anyone with the patience to cellar it for 5 or 6 years will be amply rewarded.
