Tasting notes
Crafted with vines planted on a clay and limestone plot situated at the top of the commune of Bourgueil, the 2020 Pavillon du Grand Clos exhales aromas of ripe plums, licorice, dark wild berries, pepper and spices mingled with meaty touches. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, this has an enveloping core of lively, structured fruit and a long, slightly firm finish with meaty notes. Only 1,136 bottles were produced.

The 2020 Le Grand Clos offers up a sense of richness with gourmand tannins that provide a gentle hug, coating the palate with their abundance and roundness. There's a generosity and openness here with its supple, round mouthfeel, a reflection of the clay-flint soils on a gentle slope in Bourgueil. Expect deep flavors of black cherries, a touch of cassis and a slight whiff of vanilla from the new oak (maturation in amphora, oak barrel and 500-liter oak). Drink from 2024 onward.
