Tasting notes
The 2020 Meursault Les Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru has a feistier bouquet than Bichot's Meursault Les Charmes. Yellow fruit mixes with chalk, orange zest and light crushed stone/basalt scents that surface with aeration. Returning after 20 minutes, this coheres beautifully - real class. The palate is well-balanced with a keen bead of acidity, fresh and vibrant with notes of dried honey, white pepper, hazelnut and just a touch of curry leaf. Long and tender on the finish, this is a wonderful Les Charmes. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Meursault Les Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru has an engaging bouquet with honeysuckle, orange pith and even a touch of strawberry on the nose: forward and seductive, hints of yellow flowers emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and vibrant with touches of lime and nectarine on the entry. Maybe a little more tension on the finish would not go amiss? Give this 3-5 years in bottle.
