Tasting notes
The 2015 Cont'Ugo is a dark, sumptuous beauty. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, chocolate and dark spice infuse this voluptuous Merlot from Antinori's Guado al Tasso estate. Silky, plush tannins and soft curves add to the wine's considerable pleasure.

The 2015 Cont'Ugo, 100% Merlot, from the Antinori family's Guado al Tasso property, captures all the radiance and natural intensity of the year. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, spice and floral notes abound. What is most surprising about the 2015 is the level of aromatic freshness that Antinori has preserved. There is plenty of depth and textural richness, but the redder color and brighter fruit profile are both the result of keeping more leaf cover, picking earlier and a lighter hand in vinification. This is a fabulous wine for the vintage.
The 2015 Bolgheri Rosso Cont'Ugo is a soft and luscious Merlot from the Tuscan Coast. The wine is generous and bright, showing the full range of cherry and dark fruit exuberance you can expect of this grape in a sunny and warm vintage like 2015. The wine offers lovely softness and fruity sweetness that wraps thickly over the palate. You'd do well to pair this bright Tuscan red with grilled meats or oven-roasted lasagna. The mid-weight finish is bright and moderate length. This wine offers broad-based appeal.
