The 2005 Sot Lefriec is 60% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Carinena sourced from a single vineyard. Purple with a ruby rim, the nose offers up notes of cedar, smoke, cassis, and blueberry. Slightly compressed on the palate, the wine may open with 2-3 years in the cellar. Importer: Eric Solomon, European Cellars, Charlotte, NC; tel. (704) 358-1565

(60% merlot, 25% cabernet sauvignon and 15% carinena) Dark ruby. Saturated ruby. Fresh red berry and cherry-cola aromas are complicated by suave oak spice and candied rose. Impressively focused, sweet raspberry and cherry flavors get a kick of juicy acidity on the close, where the cola quality repeats. This is gorgeous right now.
