Tasting notes
The 2019 Meursault Les Porusot 1er Cru has a very intense nose. Crushed rock and almost flinty aromas, with light pressed flower and orchard fruit develop with time in a tensile style. The palate is vibrant, poised and focused, taut and fresh with an arresting saline finish that lingers in the mouth. Superb.

The 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Porusot is promising, bursting with notes of pear, white flowers, citrus zest, fresh bread and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, it's lively and enveloping, deriving entirely from the domaine's holdings in Porusot Dessus as Roulot's holdings in the lower part of the cru weren't yet back in production after replanting.
This includes 25-year-old vines and some younger ones, all from the lower portion of Porusot. Picked 8 September. Another section comes on stream this year. Tank sample. Tight, dense and concentrated. Racy and lively. Real premier cru concentration. Massive savour on the end. Lime. (JR)
