Tasting notes
The 2019 Vosne-Romanée La Colombière is promising, wafting from the glass with scents of raw coca, warm spices, red berries, orange rind and burning embers. Medium-bodied, supple and charming, with a pretty core of fruit, lively acids and melting tannins, it concludes with a saline finish.

The 2019 Vosne-Romanée La Colombière is a step up from the Vosne-Village, displaying greater complexity and terroir expression, mulberry commingling with wild strawberry and light earthy aromas. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannins, a crisp line of acidity, superb mineralité and a tense, energetic finish. Recommended.
Just above Clos du Château on clay soil. 65- to 95-year-old vines. Tank sample. Pale ruby. Light and fruity. Seems less energetic than the village Vosne even though the clay should have helped it withstand the drought. (JR)
