2020 Gantenbein Chardonnay

The lemon-colored 2020 Chardonnay is pure and flinty on the nose that combines several worlds: a cool climate with warm, rich and generous fruit with the discretion of a slate Riesling. Ripe fruit aromas intermingle with lemon yet also finely tannic notes. On the palate, this is a rich, lush, refined and elegant yet also powerful Chardonnay with hedonistic fruit, fine sur lie bitters and ripe, finely grained acidity. The 2021 is hedonistic, very long and intense yet also mighty, with power combined with buoyancy. Tasted at the domaine in March 2024.
