The 2021 La Closerie de Fourtet has a simple but pleasant nose: brambly red fruit, a touch of Earl Grey and light tertiary scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins. There’s just a little attenuation on the finish, but a light, peppery aftertaste tempts you back.

The 2021 La Closerie de Fourtet is a blend of fruit from parcels outside the clos, plus younger vines in the heart of the estate. It's a gorgeous second wine that is full of character. Black cherry, gravel, game, incense, scorched earth, leather and dried herbs all take shape in this mid-weight, wonderfully nuanced Saint-Émilion. The 2021 is all class.
