Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2023-2032, Neal Martin, Dec 2020

The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières 1er Cru is 50% whole bunch with 25% new oak. It has a very perfumed nose of dark berry fruit infused with wilted iris flower, hints of Earl Grey emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Gentle and caressing, though I would have liked a little more density on the finish. Fine.
