Tasting notes
The 2019 Chianti Classico is a soft, easygoing wine to drink now and over the next decade or so. Hints of tobacco, cedar and dried herbs add complexity to the red cherry Sangiovese fruit. This attractive, silky Chianti Classico has so much to offer, but give it a few years first.

Sweet-berry, cherry and orange-peel aromas and flavors. Full-bodied with lightly chewy tannins and a fresh, vivid finish. A dusty mouth feel to it. Tangy at the end. So solid. Will age beautifully. Drink or hold.
Barberino Tavernelle. 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo, 5% Colorino. Mid to deep crimson. A little closed on the nose with brooding ripe red fruit and hints of black pepper and cinnamon bark. Perfumed, tangy cherry fruit with firm, bitter-sweet tannins that make themselves felt on the finish, yet the whole is elegant and long. (WS)
