Pretty red and black fruits, sappy spring flowers, tobacco, and cedar pencil notes all emerge from the 2021 Clos Marsalette, a charming, supple, medium-bodied, elegant effort that has nicely integrated acidity and a forward, charming profile. The blend is close to 50% each of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in 25% new oak. It will drink well for 10-15 years.

The 2021 Clos Marsalette has a light nose of brambly red fruit, forest floor and touches of strawberry, lacking fruit concentration overall. The palate is medium-bodied with a soft entry, light tannins and an attenuated, dry finish. Drink it over the next four or five years.
The 2021 Clos Marsalette is bright and punchy, with tons of Cabernet character driving the feel. Savory and mineral notes abound. Dried herbs, menthol, licorice and lavender are finely sketched in this mid-weight offering.
The 2021 Clos Marsalette was picked September 22 to October 10 and matured in 25% new oak. It has a fragrant bouquet of blackberry and blueberry fruit, nicely defined, plus a touch of violet. The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannins, perhaps just missing a bit of weight on the midpalate. Drink over 6–8 years.
