Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2024-2034, Neal Martin, May 2022

The 2021 Les Hauts du Tertre has a perfumed bouquet of blackberry and pencil box scents, nicely detailed and the oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied and very Médoc-like, with a peppery opening, good depth, just the right amount of dryness and a tobacco-infused finish. This is a perfectly capable Deuxième Vin to drink over 10 years after bottling.

Offering up aromas of sweet berries, cigar wrapper, loamy soils and burning embers, the 2021 Les Hauts du Tertre is medium-bodied, lively and seamless, with powdery tannins and succulent acids. It contains no Cabernet Franc this year, as everything went into the grand vin.
