The 2019 Volnay Les Carelles 1er Cru has a beautifully-defined bouquet that unfurls in the glass with red plums, subtle ferrous elements that combine wonderfully with the pure red fruit. The palate is fresh with fine grip and exquisite balance with cranberry and wild strawberry on the structured finish that suggests it will deserve 4-5 years in bottle. Contender for Bouley's wine of the vintage.
