Tasting notes
The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Village is showing brilliantly from bottle, bursting with aromas of pear and peach mingled with citrus oil, dried white flowers, smoke and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's deep and concentrated, with an electric spine of acidity and chalky structuring dry extract. Penetrating and saline, I can't think of a better communal Chassagne-Montrachet produced in this vintage.

The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Village has a clean, precise bouquet that is very mineral-driven for a village cru; honeysuckle and jasmine aromas emerge with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a saline entry, good depth and grip, and orange zest and touches of quince toward the precise but concentrated finish. Excellent.
The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Village matures in one new barrel out of six, without bâtonnage , has a fragrant, yellow flower and wet limestone scented bouquet. The palate is fresh on the entry with a crisp line of acidity, energetic with citrus peel and orange rind that leads to a very precise finish. Superb.
