Score 91/100 · Drink 2024-2036, Neal Martin, Dec 2020
The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Le Grand Maupertui Grand Cru comprises two barrels this year. It has an attractive bouquet of savory red berry fruit and touches of fig and mint. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, the considerable new oak lending a chocolaty veneer at the moment, but that should be soaked up with time. Afford this 4–5 years in bottle.
