2012 Corton Charlemagne

(just a single new barrel, as in 2011; the only one of these 2012s that had not been sulfited at the time of my visit): Very spicy nose. Very rich but a bit youthfully unformed today (this is at the very end of its malolactic fermentation), with a sweet apple flavor dominating. Not yet showing the grip or the minerality of the 2011. This is very difficult to taste today. Pillot planned to rack this wine into an older barrel in July.
