Mostly Merlot, the 2021 Château Lespault-Martillac has a round, supple, nicely textured style as well as a mix of both red and black fruits, some tobacco and earthy nuances, soft tannins, and a forward, balance profile on the palate. I'd drink a bottle today, yet it should have 10-12 years of prime drinking. It's a solid wine.

The 2021 Lespault-Martillac has a lovely, lilting, finely delineated bouquet with blackberry, raspberry coulis and touches of iris flower. The palate is medium-bodied with powdery tannins, very cohesive and focused with a minerally, tensile finish. This is definitely worth seeking out. It’s delicious and classically styled.

The 2021 Lespault-Martillac is a potent, savory wine. Dark cherry, plum, spice, leather, cedar and dried herbs are nicely layered. The 2021 is a bit compact, but it has good energy and plenty of character. Give it time to emerge. Tasted two times.
