A blend of 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc, the 2021 Château Puygueraud reveals a ruby, almost opaque hue to go with beautiful red and black fruits, sappy herbs, damp earth, and floral nuances. This medium-bodied, elegant, charming, balanced red has fine tannins, nicely integrated acidity ,and the fresher, pure, up-front style of the vintage. Drink bottles over the coming 4-6 years. Tasted multiple times with consistent notes. This cuvée comes from the talented Nicolas Thienpont and was first made in 1983.

The 2021 Puygueraud holds on to the blackberry and bilberry scents, hints of black tea and cedar developing with time in the glass. The palate is well-balanced with a crisp entry, nicely structured with good weight. This is one of the few Right Bank wines to have improved during its barrel maturation. Very fine.

The 2021 Puygueraud is a pretty, floral red driven by bright acids and lovely aromatics. Medium in body and quite gracious, the 2021 is a charmer. Dried red berry fruit, cedar, sweet tobacco and spice linger in this delicate, understated Côtes de Bordeaux.

Aromas of iris, blackberries and flowers preface the 2021 Puygueraud, a savory, juicy wine with a medium-bodied palate, powdery, fleshy tannins and a tense finish. This is a blend of 81% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc.
