Tasting notes
The 2021 Les Charmes Godard opens with striking aromatics. Jasmine, white pepper, mint, orchard fruit and a hint of spice all meld together effortlessly. A white of crystalline purity and total finesse, Les Charmes Godard is a winner. Once again, Les Charmes Godard is one of the whites of the vintage, not to mention a great value.

The 2021 Les Charmes Godard Blanc has an electric nose of fresh limes, green apples, and coriander seed, plus suggestions of grapefruit juice and struck flint. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers silkiness with great intensity and a refreshing finish.
Flowers, yellow citrus, honeysuckle, green apples, pears, and pink grapefruit nuances are all over the place on the nose and in the creamy, sweet, bright, vibrant, yellow citrus packed palate. The wine blends 65% Semillon 20% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Sauvignon Gris.
The 2021 Les Charmes-Godard Blanc is a Sémillon-dominant blend vinified in mostly used 500-liter barrels. Offering up aromas of yellow orchard fruit and citrus zest, it's medium to full-bodied, saline and lively, showing fine potential.
About the producer

Nicolas Thienpont purchased this estate in the Côte des Francs in 1988. Largely producing white wine, there is a high percentage of Semillon (60%) with 25% Sauvignon Gris and 15% Sauvignon Blanc. Fermented in 500-litre oak and spending six months on lees, this is an impressive, textured white wine.
